Copper Prices Remain High With Few Inquiries; Market Activity Sluggish [SMM North China Spot Copper]

Today, spot copper cathode in North China was at a discount of 150-110 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices were 79,600-79,950 yuan/mt, with an average price of 79,755 yuan/mt, up 320 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

Today, spot copper cathode in North China was quoted at a discount of 150-110 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 79,600-79,950 yuan/mt, with an average price of 79,755 yuan/mt, up 320 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Copper prices continued to climb, testing the key level of 80,000 yuan/mt. Downstream buyers showed strong resistance to high prices, with few inquiries, and market activity remained sluggish.
